Goodnight, Operator was shot on location in Sonoita and Patagonia, AZ, with a crew of ten and a cast of five. After thirteen consecutive shooting days, our key crew and cast packed up and caravanned to North Hollywood, Los Angeles, where the principal interior was shot for an additional three days.

Goodnight, Operator was shot entirely on Kodak BW XX Negative 16mm film on an Arriflex SRIII.

All effects were practical. The switchboard really rang for an incoming call. A 1956 Chevy Bel Air really prowled the streets. Someone’s chest was really blown open.

This film is a true independent production. The entire project started with nothing more than a few acres of Arizona grassland and an eight-word story scribbled on the corner of a bashed sketchbook.

With the enormous dedication of a small team of talented filmmakers, these eight words came to life in this desolate, unforgiving landscape.

Currently in early post. More to come.
